Japan - Still Flat...

Ryo Hiwasa is a man on a mission. A mission for waves. It's he getting waves? 

No...  Ryo says:

2-month of sunny weekend but no wave. Many of the surfers trying to ride the wave 😅

Poor old Ryo. At least he's finding the humour in it! We shall carry on with the way and I urge the mat world to collectively pray to both Neptune and Poseidon to stop sitting around and to get some waves going! 

In fairness, they are busy in the North Atlantic, but come on fellas. You're meant to be deities! 

Stay tuned...  Phileas IS gonna get some waves in Japan!

Bye Bye to the Sandwich Islands

So then, Phileas is about to head on to Japan to hook up with Ryo Hiwasa. She's had a good time in Hawaii, although the Island Gods seemed to conspire against any usable footage of waves being ridden, we did get some amazing shots of scenery and some pearls of wisdom from Ambrose Curry.

Thanks so much to Chris Gilding, Brandon Treloar, Dave Montasevitch, Ambrose Curry and Wild Bill Osgood. Phileas has had a Blast!

So on she goes to the other side of the Pacific... Can't wait!

Wild Bill Osgood... On the Search/

So Phileas has been a little quiet but she is still in the Sandwich Islands and has cropped up with Wild Bill Osgood. For those unaware, Bill is a wonderful artist and a quiet stalwart of Hawaiian surfing.  A talented bodysurfer, Bill was excited about trying a mat.

Bill tells me that summer isn't exactly wave rich and he has had to go to some lengths to find wave but he and Phileas hit the Aquatic Road and found some secret gems. He has been enjoying his time with Phileas saying:

The mat was cool. I need one.  Easy to drop in and you can flip the bow up when a bitchy little chop wants to slap you across the face!  

There is some discussion around where Phileas goes next. She may stay in Hawaii or it may be time for another continent.
